1. OpenAI’s Official ChatGPT App for iPhone Expands to 40+ Countries

● OpenAI this week announced that its official ChatGPT app for the iPhone and the iPad is now available in more than 40 countries in addition to the United States. The app first launched in the United States last week, and OpenAI promised that it would expand to more countries in the coming weeks.

2. Apple shutting down free ‘My Photo Stream’ feature that originally launched with iCloud

● It may be news to many that Apple’s “My Photo Stream” feature was still alive and kicking, but the real news today is that Apple is pulling the plug on the free iCloud feature this summer.

3. Apple Developer app updated with WWDC support for keynote, session videos, more

● Apple’s WWDC event is just 10 days away, and Apple continues to roll out various different ways to follow along from home. Now, Apple has released an update to the Apple Developer app for iPhone and iPad with full support for WWDC videos, labs, announcements, and more.

4. Find My Apple Pencil described in Apple patent, using acoustic signals

● A Find My Apple Pencil feature could be on the way, as described in a new Apple patent application published today. Interestingly, the method Apple describes doesn’t use an ultra-wideband chip, but rather an acoustic signal.

5. Apple Pride celebrations continue with Madonna and LGBTQIA+ artist playlists

● Apple Pride celebrations, ahead of Pride Month in June, are continuing. The company kicked things off with a new Apple Watch band and watch face, and has today announced new workouts with music playlists of LGBTQIA+ “artists and allies.”

6. Figma just launched its own Freeform app for iPad with FigJam

● FigJam is Figma’s whiteboarding space, introduced in 2021. Now the online whiteboard for teams is directly on the iPad.

● The 2023 Pride Band really celebrates Queer joy with a fitting confetti design. Now we’re taking a hands-on look at the new offering.

8. iPhone 15 could unlock faster wireless charging for everyone

● Apple has a major change in store for the iPhone 15 when it comes to charging. That’s because Apple is all but guaranteed to change the charging port for the first time since the iPhone 5. Switching from Lightning to USB-C might not be the only charging change in store, however.

9. Apple wins Best of Show with ‘The Greatest’ ad along with 50+ total awards [Videos]

● A recent global advertising awards program reiterates how strong Apple’s marketing is. The company was very well decorated at the event winning Best of Show, four Best of Discipline awards, and over 50 accolades in total.

10. Apple invites VR experts to WWDC 2023 as company is expected to announce its new headset

● WWDC 2023 will start on June 5 with a special opening keynote. At the event, the company will announce the next major updates to its operating systems, which include iOS 17, watchOS 10, and macOS 14. But in addition to new software, Apple is also rumored to announce its long-awaited mixed reality headset at the event.

11. iPhone and Apple Watch can now replace car keys in more models

● Drivers may soon have another brand to consider when shopping for cars that support Apple’s Car Key feature. British sports car company Lotus has already been on our radar as a potential candidate. Now Mercedes-Benz support appears to be ready to launch.

12. Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for macOS updated with new features and support for iPad apps

● Apple this morning released Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad, marking the first time the company’s professional software comes to iPadOS users. Now the company is also rolling out updates to the macOS versions of these apps, which come with new features and support for projects created in the iPad apps.

● We’re under two weeks away from WWDC 2023 and the Apple Design Award finalists have been officially announced. Apple has nominated over 30 apps across six categories ranging from inclusivity to delight and fun, visuals and graphics to social impact. Here’s the full list of finalists.

● Updated May 2023 to add Georgia to the list of states with driver’s license support in Wallet.
